Bridges/ Implant Crowns
Bridges or implants are often used to help replace missing teeth. Both are highly esthetic choices that provide an option that is fixed in the mouth and not a removable appliance.
Bridges are used by placing crowns on either side of a missing tooth and a crown in the empty space. The crowns are permanently adhered to the teeth to give the appearance and function as if no tooth was missing.
Implants can often provide a more ideal solution to replace a missing tooth, so this option is preferred in most cases. An implant placed by our preferred specialists in the region is used to provide the base for a crown. The bone that is vital to the health of teeth adjacent to a missing tooth is preserved by placing an implant where the old tooth’s root once was. This procedure is surprisingly easy and pain free for patients. There is often a six-month time span from when the process starts to when a crown is placed on the implant at the end of the treatment. This crown is created and restored by our office. If the empty space is in a highly visible location in the mouth, we strive to provide an option to help mask empty space as to keep an esthetic solution.
